Wayfaring Stranger is the latest iteration of Lillie Mae Cane. A year in the making, it is Lillie Mae’s first gallery show. Opening night at Bricolage www.bricoshoppe.com/ included three rare performances by Lillie Mae and her cohort, JB. Standing on an oak palate stage, Lillie Mae frailed the banjo and sang songs from the public domain. JB a train yard engineer from Spokane played guitar and fiddle and offered up her angelic voice to Lillie Mae’s alto vocals. Cane told stories and engaged the 200 or so onlookers who stomped and sang along.
